About Aspasia Merkouri
A native speaker of Greek, I was born and raised in an island of the northern Aegean sea called Lesvos; upon setting my academic course, life brought me to yet another island but of the northern Ionian sea this time: thus I graduated in 2007 from the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting in Corfu, specialising in both translation and conference interpreting. But it was language lust which led me to yet another island, further north: in 2009, I received my M.Sc. in Translating and Conference Interpreting (English-Greek, Greek-English) from Heriot-Watt University.
Ever since, having become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and having obtained a British citizenship as well, I pursue my professional career in the UK offering translation services as a certified translator for the Greek Embassy in London and the Greek Consulates in UK, as well as for private clients and legal firms.
